Wild ideas

What a news day... I mean, how short-sighted and ridiculous can we get in this City? Metro governments don't want to work together, and, with this most recent Bad Idea, there is plenty of fuel for Des Moines' critics.

Fortunately, there are diversions to keep us smiling.

Just remember to vote on Nov. 5, OK?

Free Market

Perhaps the only benefit to our City's perpetually constipated consideration... the private sector gets tired of waiting. I wonder how many councilpersons are relieved?

Mediacom

My Internet connectivity was down for most of the past 24 hours.

Too bad I had to hunt for answers outside the laughable Web site of my provider.

And I don't really care about TV, but it sounds like Mediacom is turning the screws on couch potatoes all over the place...

That explains the satellite dishes going up left and right in the neighborhood.

And...

The radio station lives again, too.

Mostly folky for awhile...

Go ahead. Say something.

Exodus

Jeff Banks plays a mean guitar. He's been making music in this town for *many* years. And he leaves for Austin this month.

I've been to Austin. Their grass isn't greener. They don't even really have grass.

No matter. Best wishes to another friend in flight.

east side

Just in case you missed it...

Another "east side story" has surfaced.

My own experience with the City hasn't been nearly as harrowing, but it still makes me wonder why They don't feel empowered to stand up for the taxpayers trying to make this City better.

DMPS

Goals are good; meeting them is good.

Providing ammo for the critics is *not* good.

It's not what you're thinking.

Now if we could only get some work done on radio playlists...

How did art get so twisted?
