It's *Monday* songs with Moreno Veloso.

whatever

I wish I could share enthusiasm over progress on the Events Center, but there are some things that seem troublesome.

Not the least of which is the fact that I can't think of an Industry act that I would want to see on stage. And I'm confident They are going to be booking a narrow scope of talent in that place.

No Way

I do *not* think of visiting Clive for good times...

or any other suburb for that matter.

the rabbit hole

How deep does it go?

Read up.

Random

Bumped into Tom Green in a hotel lobby yesterday.

I didn't ask why he was in town...

Sunday songs

Really ought to give up the name; I tend to throw these down on Fridays...

This weekend it's...

Talking Heads live at the Sun Palace in Tokyo.

1981.

Really.

east side

Like I was saying...

Watch the east gateway.

commuting

TMA wants to reduce traffic by 10 percent in Des Moines – 9,600 fewer cars on I-235 every day.

If it would quit raining, I might start commuting by bicycle (tomorrow is "bike to work" day; who knew?). For nearly two years, I did a single-car commute with my wife, too. But my activity doesn't change the big picture: as long as we keep growing west, more people are going to be driving east.

Of course, some reasonably priced housing downtown would help, too. I think the east side of the river is the place to watch...

“That the automobile has practically reached the limit of its development is suggested by the fact that during the past year no improvements of a radical nature have been introduced.”

Sunday songs

Early again this week because it's a long set list – a 5+ hour collection of acid jazz. Let me know if you like this stuff. Track IDs on request, too.

new local music

Appended Saving Mae's live 'Daytime TV Head' to the local playlist.

Interesting lyrics, especially...

"I'm waiting for ricki lake
to throw a chair at geraldo
and break his face"

and then...

Oh, if we only had more *big time recording artists* visiting...

we'd be even more broke and dissappointed.

Good thing I saved my money for other shows.

And Then...

In the battle of city (or citizens?) vs. civic merriment... need we even ask who wins.

And Then...

Will it ever be built? Do we care?

Sunday songs

They're early; you have 3 days to ponder this Keller Williams show. A lot of noise for one dude.

I'm chasing trout this weekend.

The RIAA hasn't a clue.

More on this later; I'm off to the gig.
